Increase Your Energy and Alleviate Pain

Using This Simple Daily Practice

Gua Sha has been used by eastern cultures for centuries as a form of self-care to treat pain, energy blockages and many other ailments affecting the body. It is often used by Acupuncturists as part of a holistic treatment to invoke circulation in muscles that are tight and painful, and as a complement to an acupuncture session. Gua Sha is a manual therapy that uses an instrument such as a jade rounded tool or other smooth device to perform a specialized form of massage and scraping of the skin and underlying tissue. It is an easy and soothing process that releases tightness, pain and energy that is stagnant in areas of the body and induces up to 400% more circulation, uplifts your energy and increases mobility of joints. This modality has the added benefit of decreasing inflammation, increasing oxygenation and boosting the immune system.

Some of the physical and psychological issues Gua Sha treats include:

  • Mental fatigue, anxiety, stress
  • Arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis
  • Joint pain, wrist and hand pain, tennis elbow, tendonitis, shoulder pain
  • Neuralgia/numbness/tingling, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica
  • Digestive issues – gastritis, abdominal pain, constipation, etc.
  • Increasing blood flow to the heart
  • Calming your spirit – anxiety, stress, over-thinking
  • Plantar fasciitis, shin splints, foot and ankle pain, decreased mobiity
  • Cold and flu and related symptoms, cough, asthma
  • Dizziness, heart palpitations, restlessness
  • Boosts the immune system
